Revellers barge into DL q’finals

Che’Lu Bar and Grill-San Sebastian barged into the 2018 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup quarterfinals with an emphatic 99-60 victory over Batangas-EAC on Monday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

The Revellers took advantage of their 20-day break, pouncing on the also-ran Generals on their way to their fifth straight win.

Allyn Bulanadi and Ryan Costelo spearheaded the 39-point rout as they combined for six treys as Che’Lu-San Sebastian shot 15-of-37 from the field.

Costelo shot 13 points and had 10 rebounds, while Bulanadi also produced 13 points.

Veteran forward Samboy de Leon led all scorers with 15 points.

Che’Lu-San Sebastian coach Stevenson Tiu said he can finally heave a sigh of relief after his team secured a spot in the playoffs with a 7-3 card.

“At least, we can now relax a bit,” he said.

After falling 0-4, the Revellers retorted with a 9-0 blast before extending their lead to as much as 44, 99-55.

Cedrick Ablaza led Batangas-EAC (1-8) with 14 points.

In the second game, Paolo Pontejos dropped seven of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as Jose Rizal University ended its eight-game losing skid with a 98-87 win over Ama Online.
