The Philippine Davis Cup team will bank on its preparation and crowd support when it takes on the fancied Thailand squad starting this weekend in the Asia Oceania Zone Group II at PCA shell-clay courts in Paco, Manila.
PH Davis Cup administrator Martin Misa said the Thais, composed of twins Sanchai and Sonchat Ratiwatana, Wishaya Trongcharoenchaikul, Jirat Navasirisomboon, and Palaphoom Kovapitukted, are also well-prepared but are more dangerous.
“The Thais are stronger and more experienced but they can’t take our team for granted,” said Misa, whose visiting players were swept 5-0 by the Thais last year.
The PH squad is composed of AJ Lim, Johnny Arcilla, Francis Casey Alcantara, Jeson Patrombon and John Bryan Otico.
