Alaska is banking on youth to contend in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup as it signed up 23-year-old Antonio Campbell.

The team announced the development on Thursday, completing the roster of reinforcements for the second conference.

Campbell played for Ohio in his collegiate days, where he was named as the Mid-American Conference Player of the Year back in his junior season. He was an early entrant for the 2016 NBA Draft but ultimately decided to return to his school.

He averaged 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds in his senior year with the Bobcats before going undrafted in the 2017 NBA Draft.

Campbell was then signed by the Lakeland Magic in the NBA G-League, where he netted 6.3 markers, 4.6 boards, and 1.2 assists in the 20 games he played for in the 2017-18 season.

Campbell’s arrival bolsters the shallow Aces frontline, which features Sonny Thoss and Vic Manuel, together with reserves Jake Pascual and Marion Magat.

Alaska opens its campaign in the second conference on April 27 when it takes on Rain or Shine at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
