TARLAC—Cyna Rodriguez struggled off the tees but held it together somehow to shoot a three-over-par 75 on Thursday and see an overnight four-shot lead over Thailand’s Supakchaya Pattaranakrueang whittle down to two heading into the final 18 holes of the ICTSI Luisita Ladies Championship here.
Rodriguez couldn’t sustain the brilliance of an opening 70 on Wednesday with three bogeys coming out, needing a series of par saves in the back nine and a 20-foot birdie putt on the par-5 16th for 145 overall.
Pattaranakrueang bogeyed the par-5 ninth and 11th and had double bogeys on the 15th and the 17th for a 73 and a 147 aggregate.
Marvi Monsalve shot a 74 for 148, three off in her search for a breakthrough victory
Amateur Sofia Chabon turned in the day’s best score, a 71 and tied Thai Thanuttra Boonraksasat and fellow amateur Mikha Fortuna, who both carded 74s, and Princess Superal at 151.
