Batang Gilas faces China for Fiba Asia U16 finals berth

Home team China ousted Lebanon, 80-71, and set up a semifinals date with Batang Gilas on Saturday in the Fiba Asia Under 16 Championships in Foshan.

Tip-off for their battle for a finals berth is at 6pm at Lingnan Mingzhu Gymnasium.

The Chinese also punched their ticket for Fiba Under-17 World Cup, joining the Philippines, New Zealand and Australia for the June tournament in Argentina.

Earlier, the Filipinos led by Kai Sotto and Christian Calimag turned back Japan, 72-70.

Sun Haoqin topscored for China with 23 while Jiao Boqiao added 19 points and 14 boards.

Australia and New Zealand, meanwhile, will dispute the other finals spot.
