Batang Gilas booked a spot in the Fiba World Under-17 championships after surviving Japan, 72-70, in the quarterfinals of the Fiba Asia U-16 qualifying on Friday in Foshan, China.
The top four teams in the Asian qualifiers will advance to the World Cup slated in June in Argentina.
