PCL’s final Immuvit Race Against Time proves to be a glorious spectacle

CLARK, PAMPANGA – The fourth and final leg of the Pilipinas Cycling League – Immuvit Race against Time held here on Nov. 26-27 proved to be a thrilling race to 340 seasoned riders.

The cyclists competed in Men’s Executive A and B, Women’s, Juniors and Masters categories in a race that included a Prologue, a Circuit, and for the first time, 1 100-kilometer Road Race on the SCTEx Highway.

The first race, Saturday’s Prologue, was a 10-kilometer course that started in the morning in front of the Clearwater Resort and Country Club in Clark. Paolo Sauler of Fitness First topped  Men’s Executive A, while Philip Bloom of Jac Motors BVTC bagged Executive B. Monica Torres of Boys Get Chicked won the Women’s category, while Ryan Bravo of 7-Eleven and Carlvin Acierto of Zamba Cycling shone in the Juniors and Masters categories, respectively.

The afternoon rain had riders of the 90-kilometer Circuit racing on a wet and tricky course around the Clark Freeport Zone. But the cyclists battled through the weather and made a strong surge to the finish line.

Pinpin Uy of Franzia Wines finished first in the Executive A category while Modesto Amante of 7Lakes led the Executive B category. Kim Manrobang of Boys Get Chicked triumphed in Women’s, while Lawrence Mendoza of Zamba won in the Masters.

Good weather prevailed the whole day Sunday as the riders competed in the SCTEx Road Race. Nestor Dela Cruz of Jac Motors BVTC topped the  Executive A division in the 100-kilometer race. Nebres Oliver of Team Road Bike Phils ATC topped Executive B, while Kim Manrobang of Boys Get Chicked once again won in Women’s category. Wilfren Arabe and Carlvin Acierto of Zamba dominated in the Juniors and Masters categories.

Also first in the General Classification standings were: Pinpin Uy of Franzia Wines for Executive A, Conrad Bustamante of Jac Motors BVTC for Executive B, Monica Torres of Boys Get Chicked for Women’s, and Ryan Bravo of 7-Eleven for Juniors category.

After a glorious spectacle on the road, more than 30 participating teams celebrated at the awarding party that rounded out the two-day cycling event.

Overall winners were: Miguel Gonzales of Jac Motors BVTC for Juniors category, Doray Ellis of Boys Get Chicked for Women’s, Erwin Navarro of Fitness First for Executive A and Nelson Pamintuan of Mossimo for Executive B. Fitness First was awarded no. 1 team, while Jac Motors BVTC and Franzia Wines placed second and third respectively. Meanwhile, True Faith performed to a crowd of passionate cyclists who, unrelentingly, raced against time to the finish.
