La Salle avenged its only loss in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament by clipping Adamson on Thursday and sealed a twice-to-beat privilege in the Final Four while doing it.

The in-form defending champion Lady Spikers needed four sets to down Adamson, 25-21, 25-15, 22-25, 25-18, to all but seal top ranking in the semifinals at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The win, the Lady Spikers’ seventh straight, also showed their readiness in scoring a repeat title run after rising to 11-2.

It also gave struggling National University a free ride to the semifinals as it closed the doors on teams which can no longer notch seven wins, counting the Lady Falcons.

Adamson bowed out with a 5-8 record.

Far Eastern University strengthened its claim for the second twice-to-beat privilege by trouncing University of the East, 25-17, 25-15, 25-20, in the second game.

Kyle Negrito, who had 34 excellent sets on top of five aces for the Lady Tamaraws, said they won’t stop until they take the last available twice-to-beat bonus.

“We will work very hard to win that game (against National University),” said Negrito.

Kim Kiana Dy, Desiree Cheng and Majoy Baron turned in double-digit performances for the Lady Spikers, who got back at the Lady Falcons who dealt them a shocking 25-18, 15-25, 25-19, 25-22 defeat in the first round.
