Ousted sides try to salvage something from a bleak season on Saturday in the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament at Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City.
Preseason favorites University of Santo Tomas and Adamson University, out of the Final Four running since last week, battle in the 4 p.m. contest where nothing but pride is at stake.
University of the East and University of the Philippines collide in the first game at 2 p.m.
“What happened has already happened,” said Santo Tomas coach Kungfu Reyes, referring to his Tigresses’ losing season.
“But we have our pride to uphold.”
Tagged as one of the favorites at the start, Reyes lost EJ Laure and Rica Rivera due to injuries and the Tigresses were never able to recover.
