It was also a reunion of sorts as Valdez once again teamed up with former UST High running mate Kim Fajardo.
“The last time I played with her is back in the SEA Games and it feels good. Kim is very chill, but she wants to see the fire and your passion every time you step on the court. It’s really exciting every time I get a chance to play with her,” he said.

- The three-time UAAP MVP is looking forward for more chances to share the floor with the country’s top volleyball talents as they gear up for two major international tournaments this year.
Second phase of the tryout is on April 18, with more names expected to attend the session.
“I’m looking forward to teaming up with Sisi (Rondina) and the other UAAP players. For sure, there are a lot of talented players who are in shape and I’m sure that they can contribute. Hopefully, we see them in the next tryouts,” he said.
“We all have a wish and that is to be complete and have a longer time to prepare so that we can have a good showing when we represent the country.”
