Barangay Ginebra is expected to miss Greg Slaughter for a longer period of time, as per head coach Tim Cone.

Slaughter, who is nursing a sprained ankle, had already missed the Kings’ campaign in the Philippine Cup playoffs and Cone said the 7-foot center is going to be out for at least another month.

“I guess the secret’s out that Greg’s gonna be out for another four or five weeks, at least, so he’s gonna miss, I say, at least half of the eliminations,” Cone said after Ginebra edged TNT, 100-98, in a tune-up game Saturday at Upper Deck gym.

Cone, however, is confident Ginebra is going to stand its ground despite Slaughter’s absence.

“We have some really good strengths and definite weaknesses because we don’t a big guy until Greg’s back. But we think we can do stuff, we think we can compete.”
