Alab Pilipinas faces Mono Vampire in best-of-five ABL Finals

Mono Vampire stunned top seed Chong Son Kung Fu, 83-80, to complete the semifinals sweep and set up a date with San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League Finals.

Sam Deguara completed the and-one clincher off a pass from Jason Brickman with two ticks remaining to lift the no. 4 seed into the final round where the Thais will play a best-of-five series against the Filipinos.

Alab Pilipinas, which ousted no. 2 Hong Kong Eastern last Sunday in an identical sweep, holds the home court advantage in the finals series starting this Sunday.

Games 1 and 2 will be played at the Sta. Rosa Multipurpose Complex in Laguna before the series goes to Mono Vampire’s home floor at Stadium 29 in Bangkok for Game 3.

Fil-American guard Brickman paced Mono Vampire with 23 points, six rebounds and and nine assists in 40 minutes of action. Mike Singletary had 23 points and 13 rebounds while Deguara had a monster line of 19 points and 19 boards.
