Filipino marathoner Sangalang conquers North Pole

Having survived cancer in his 20s, Louie Sangalang is no stranger to overcoming adversities.

Just recently, Sangalang conquered his greatest challenge yet after hurdling the arduous FWD North Pole Marathon.

The 40-year-old Sangalang was the lone Filipino in the race and he didn’t disappoint by showcasing the Filipino spirit.

Sangalang vowed to complete the race and he delivered, crossing the finish line in 11 hours and four minutes.

“I consider this not just my most challenging race but the most challenging event to date in my life,” Sangalang said two months ago.

Sangalang traversed the snowy terrain and endured freezing temperatures.
