The Philippine Olympic Committee is set to launch an aggressive marketing campaign to attract corporate backers willing to fund national sport associations.
POC president Ricky Vargas said secretary general Patrick Gregorio would spearhead the initiative together with the ways and means committee headed by first vice president Joey Romasanta and auditor Jonne Go.
“Let’s revive the practice of getting one benefactor, whether corporate or individual, to bankroll a sport each,” said Vargas.
The group of businessman Manny V. Pangilinan is supporting boxing and basketball, softball has Cebuana Lhuillier and athletics run its programs with a big lift from Ayala Corporation.
