Ateneo star Marck Espejo wins 5th straight UAAP MVP

Marck Espejo started his collegiate career as the best player in the UAAP and he’s ending it at the top as well.

The Ateneo superstar was named MVP for the fifth straight year after after leading the Blue Eagles back into the Final Four as the third seed with an 11-3 record.

The graduating outside hitter, who was a rookie MVP back in Season 76, is having his best year yet in Season 80.

Espejo set the UAAP record for most points in a game with 55 points before following it up with a 37-point performance to knock off Far Eastern University, which had a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four.

The 21-year-old Espejo was also named Best Spiker, Best Scorer and Best Server.

Two other Blue Eagles were recognized with Esmilzo Polvorosa bagging the Best Setter award and Ariel Morado winning Rookie of the Year.

Meanwhile, Jopet Movido of La Salle is this season’s Best Digger and Rikko Marmeto is Best Receiver.
