Leo Isaac’s tenure in Blackwater has come to an end.

Sources close to the situation bared on Monday that the 57-year-old mentor’s days at the helm for the Elite are over as the team management terminated his contract following another dismal start this 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup. His contract was set to expire in May.

Isaac had been Blackwater’s lead bench tactician in the PBA since the league’s expansion in 2014 when team owner Dioceldo Sy retained his services from the PBA D-League.

Isaac and Blackwater go way back. The former Mapua Cardinal was appointed as the head coach in 2011 when the franchise became one of the founding teams in the PBA D-League.

Under his watch, the team which is then known as Blackwater Sports, captured the 2013 PBA D-League Foundation Cup title.

The jump to the PBA, though, wasn’t as fruitful with the Elite only making the playoffs twice.

Isaac accumulated a 29-88 record in his 11 conferences for Blackwater, which started 0-3 this conference, with its latest defeat a93-74 beatdo wn at the hands of Alaska last Sunday.

INQUIRER tried to get the side of Isaac and Blackwater management, but they have yet to respond as of posting.
