Tess Rountree put up 22 points for the High Flyers whose majority of players came from the collegiate teams like Far Eastern University and National University.
Jerrili Malabanan and Celine Domingo rose up and met Amporn Hyapha to seal the victory for the High Flyers who have only started practicing on Tuesday.
PayMaya head coach Roger Gorayeb said he was satisfied with how his team played despite the players trying to find the right chemistry on the playing court.
“They were still adjusting to each other but it was okay because the players’ individual styles of play were already displayed,” said Gorayeb in Filipino. “We have already filled in the gaps, position-wise.”
Shelby Sullivan had 15 points to support PayMaya as Jasmine Nabor orchestrated the offense with 24 excellent sets.
Jovielyn Prado led the Fighting Warays with 12 points.
