Columbian continued to own the number of Rain or Shine, this time taking the 104-96 victory Wednesday in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Mall of Asia Arena.

Bailey John Fields unfurled 34 points, 11 rebounds, and five assists, while Rashawn McCarthy scored nine of his 23 points in the fourth quarter on a 6-of-12 shooting from three, on top of six boards, four assists, and three steals.

Columbian replicated its win over Rain or Shine in the 2018 Philippine Cup, where it ended a 16-game slide with the 98-94 win last January 20.

More importantly, the triumph hiked the Dyip’s record to 3-2.

“We talked about that when we were preparing against Rain or Shine and I told them that they didn’t show up. Alaska took us to school and we learned from that. We had no choice but to learn from that horrible loss and this is the result of that.”

Columbian shot 13-of-41 from three to make up for the 65-52 rebounding disadvantage in favor of Rain or Shine.

McCarthy’s hot hands allowed the Dyip to establish control in the tight fourth period with his triple at the 4:22 mark giving his side the 97-92 lead.
