Horrigan, Cojuangco share limelight in TRS Cup

Hotel executive Bobby Horrigan and former congressman Charlie Cojuangco notched convincing triumphs in the second leg of the 2011 TRS Cup powered by Ford Fiesta at the Clark International Speedway recently.

Horrigan dictated the tempo from start to finish and ruled the first two races of the event. Cojuangco, who won two races in the first leg, stopped Horrigan from sweeping the races and claimed the final race by a close-shaved victory.

It was a big comeback for Horrigan, who bagged two runners-up and a third place finish in the first leg. Horrigan gained a share of the lead with Cojuangco.

Maximizing the perfect set-up of his car, Horrigan grabbed the top spot on green light and breezed away with a fastest time of 2:32.770 on the fourth lap.

Wrapping up the race in 20 minutes and 23.058 seconds, he claimed Round 4 by a wide 6.450 seconds margin over Cojuangco.

German Stefan Wolf of Team Hafele checked in third while Indian Manikandan CR of Team Ford Alabang and Ding Dizon of Team Coke Zero wound up fourth and fifth.

Horrigan again showed the way in Round 5, dominating the competition from coast to coast before completing eight laps of racing in 20:28.712.
