ANTIPOLO — Arwind Santos expressed his concern over San Miguel Beer’s 0-2 start in the 2018 PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“Of course, I’m alarmed,” Santos admitted in Filipino. “It’s just a short conference and every win matters.”

Touted as the favorites, the Beermen bowed to Rain or Shine, 123-119, in overtime in a game where the Elasto Painters came back from 17 points down.

Santos led the San Miguel in a losing effort, going for 29 points, nine rebounds, four assists and five blocks.

But for the 2013 PBA MVP, he knows that San Miguel still has control of its own fate.

“We still have hope. It’s still a long way and we can still get to our goal which is the top two. If we don’t, that’s life. It’s not always that you’ll be on top,” he said.

And if there’s something Santos knows about this Beermen squad, it’s that they are resilient as ever, especially when their backs are against the wall.

“We won’t quit. We’ll make the adjustments that we need, and maybe, there will be changes. We’ll see in the coming days,” he said.
