Blazers clip Tamaraws to remain unbeaten in Filoil

College of St. Benilde remained unbeaten in the 2018 Chooks-to-Go Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup after slipping past Far Eastern University, 80-73, Tuesday at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

Justin Gutang powered the Blazers with 27 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals to improve to 3-0 in Group B.

Senegalese big man Clement Leutcheu also pumped 13 points, 14 boards, and four assists, while Edward Dixon got 12points and four rebounds in the win.

St. Benilde took advantage of FEU’s erratic offense, turning the Tamaraws’ 21 turnovers to 23 points in its favor.

Arvin Tolentino paced FEU with 16 points on 3-of-9 shooting from three, on top of nine rebounds, while Wendell Comboy got 10.

The Tamaraws suffered their first defeat in the summer tournament after winning their first three games.
