Biado takes turn at Taiwan’s Chang

MANILA, Philippines—Filipino ace Carlo Biado tries to avenge the loss of stablemate Roberto Gomez when he takes on Taiwan’s Chang Jung-lin Friday night in the Philippine Bigtime Billiards Face Off at the Pagcor Airport Casino in Parañaque.

Ranked No. 16 in the world, Biado vows to stop Chang, who nipped his fellow Bugsy Promotions teammate, 9-7, in another PBB duel recently.

“He (Chang) won against Gomez and that will be my motivation against him,” said the La Union-born Biado. “I want to make sure that I do well against him that’s why I prepared hard for this match.”

At stake in the showdown presented by Mega Sports World and BRKHRD Corp. is a $5,000 purse for the winner.

The betting lines are favoring Chang, with a $1 wager on the Taiwanese netting just $1.69. A $1 bet on Biado would win $1.82 in this race-to-9, 10-ball affair.

The match will be aired live over Solar Sports, Sky Channel 70 and Destiny Channel 34.

Also backing the event are Airport Casino Filipino, Crown Sound System Sakura Amplifiers and Home Theater Systems, Malungai Life Oil, Diamond Billiard table, Hermes Sports Bar, I-Bar, Golden Leaf Restaurant, Bugsy Promotions, Mandarin Sky Sea Food Restaurant, Billiards Managers and Players Association of the Philippines.

The next PBB Face Off Series on Dec. 30 pits Wu Chia Ching of China against Filipino legend Efren “Bata” Reyes.
