Filipino MMA star Eduard Folayang had a triumphant return after he topped Kharun Atlangeriev of Russia in ONE: Unstoppable Dreams at Singapore Indoor Stadium Friday night.
Folayang, who lost the ONE lightweight title after falling to Martin Nguyen in a second-round knockout in Manila, scored a unanimous decision win in his first fight in six months.
With the victory, Folayang may have just set himself up for another shot at the title.
The 33-year-old fighter out of the famed Team Lakay improved his record to 19 wins and six losses.
And he did so by showcasing his striking skills and takedown defense.
Folayang peppered Atlangeriev with inside and outside leg kicks and kicks to the body and head.
But while Folayang emerged victorious with an impressive showing, his compatriot Roel Rosauro fell short as he bowed to Sunoto of Indonesia by unanimous decision.
Nguyen also fought and won over hometown bet Christian Lee by split decision in the co-featured fight to retain the featherweight belt.
