Almadro asks for prayers amid appointment as Lady Eagles’ coach

Oliver Almadro, the current head coach of the Ateneo men’s volleyball program, has reportedly been appointed as the new chief of the Lady Eagles’ bench.

In a text to Inquirer, Almadro, however, refused to confirm the reports yet, preferring to wait until Ateneo makes an official announcement.

“Until Ateneo makes an official announcement I cannot disclose anything from my side,” said Almadro in Filipino.

The affable mentor, though, asked for prayers with things still not official.

“I hope you guys include me in your prayers that I am worthy.”

Almadro will replace Tai Bundit, the architect of Ateneo’s championship-winning teams in Season 76 and 77.

But the Lady Eagles’ new mentor won’t be without any championship experience as Almadro led the Blue Eagles to three straight titles from Season 77 to 79.
