PetroGazz snapped out of its slump after a hard-fought win over BanKo, 15-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-9, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Reinforced Conference Sunday at Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
The Angels chalking up their first win after starting their campaign with three straight losses. They now have same record as the Perlas Spikers, who suffered their third consecutive setback.
Angels head coach Jerry Yee was finally able to breath a sigh of relief.
“I’m relieved, well I’m not the only coach who will feel that way after getting his first win,” said Yee in Filipino. “Thank God we got this first win.”
Anastasiia Trach put up 27 points to carry the Angels while Kadi Kullerkann and Cherry Nunag combined for 30.
Wensh Tiu, who received little playing time in the Angels’ first three games, was given an opportunity this time and made the most out of it with 10 points.
Jutaray Montripila and Lakia Bright had 27 and 23 points, respectively, to lead the Perlas Spikers.
