Cebu PNG: Nakano siblings, swimmer shine

Filipino-Japanese twins Shugen and Kensei Nakano plucked golds in the 9th Philippine National Games on Tuesday at Cebu City Sports Complex. Donning the colors of Pasay City, the 22-year old Shugen crushed Al-Rolan Llamas by way of ippon in the men’s -66kg class while Kensei downed Czar Augustus Bayas of Taguig, also via ippon, in the men’s 73kg. In swimming, 18-year-old Nicole Meah Pamintuan of Santa Rosa City, Laguna, clinched the gold medal in the girls’ 100-meter backstroke, clocking 9.81 seconds to beat Andrea Punay of Gen. Santos City (1:21.70). As of 2:30 p.m., Cebu City remains on top with seven gold, 11 silver and nine bronze medals.

PTT driver favorite in Asia pro drifting series

A Thai racer will see action in the King of Nations Philippines (KONPH) 2018, the final round of the King of Nations Asia ProSeries 2018 this weekend at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga. Representing PTT RD-2 Drift Team, the 23-year-old Wuttitat “Keng” Pankumnerd is tipped to dominate the final leg. The Philippines will be led by 19-year-old Luis Gono, David Feliciano and Atoy Llave. Other foreign drivers who will see action are Charles Ng of Hong Kong, Daigo Saito, Hirohide Tanaka, Keiichiro Kadekaru, and Toni “HalfBreeds” Arakaki of Japan and Nasser Almutairi of Kuwait.
