Almadro is no stranger to championships with his three UAAP titles being Ateneo’s only trophies in the men’s volleyball tournament.

Replacing Almadro in the men’s volleyball program, meanwhile, is former Blue Eagle Timmy Sto. Tomas who played for Ateneo from 2004 to 2009.

Sto. Tomas, who was one of Almadro’s assistants and was the head coach of the high school team, is a constant presence in the Eagles’ roost having served in the University Athletics Office for the past 10 years after graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.

While working for Ateneo, Sto. Tomas pursued a higher degree and graduated from Ateneo School of Government with a Masters Degree in Public Management.

“Having been with the AMVT for the longest time, there is no doubt that Coach Timmy is more than capable of continuing the team’s legacy of Ateneo athleticism,” said Villarin.
