Jordan Sta. Ana didn’t look far for his new school and a new coach.
The former University of Santo Tomas standout has joined Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the NCAA where he reunites with his former high school mentor in Jeff Napa.
“Sta. Ana has committed to play with Letran,” said Napa Friday after the Knights’ 94-71 victory over Jose Rizal University in the Filoil Flying V Preseason Cup at The Arena in San Juan.
Napa said Sta. Ana has yet to enroll in Letran, UST’s sister school under the Dominican Order, but the head coach is confident that his former player will be a Knight for a long time.
Sta. Ana, who played for Napa in National University in the UAAP high school division, will serve the mandatory one-year residency the NCAA imposes on transferees but the former Growling Tiger will still have three playing years ahead of him.
“He’s played for me for three years [in NU] and he’ll be part of our preparation for the future of Letran,” said Napa in Filipino.
“At least we’re consistent on our vision to put Letran back to its glory days.”
