Creamline blasted Tacloban in straight sets, 25-14, 27-25, 26-24, for its third straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Sunday at Batangas City Sports Coliseum.
The Cool Smashers stayed atop the league with a 4-1 record while the Fighting Warays dropped to 2-3.
Playing in her hometown, Alyssa Valdez, who put up 22 points to lead the Cool Smashers while Kaewpin Kuttika added 16.
“This is a very important win because this is my hometown and this is where I started,” said Valdez in Filipino. “It’s always good to be back here and play for them and shoe them the kind of Batangueñas they can produce.”
The Cool Smashers had a bittersweet time in front of the net as they scored 44 spikes but at the same time allowed the Fighting Warays to score on 10 blocks.
Creamline, though, had an easier time in scoring from the service line putting up 13 service aces to Tacloban’s three.
Hyapha Amporn led the Fighting Warays with 15 points while Jovielyn Prado and Sasiwimol Sangpan combined for 21 points.
