Pocari-Air Force whips BaliPure, gains share of 2nd

Pocari Sweat-Air Force got back on track after stopping BaliPure in four sets, 25-19, 10-25, 25-17, 25-21, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Sunday at Batangas City Sports Coliseum.

The Lady Warriors, who lost their last game to Creamline in four sets, created a three-way logjam in second with the Water Defenders and PayMaya all having 3-2 records.

Myla Pablo was in constant attack mode finishing with 21 points on 14 spikes, four blocks, and three aces, to lead Pocari-Air Force.

Although substitute Cesca Racraquin failed to register a single point, she was Pocari-Air Force head coach Jasper Jimenez’ difference maker in the close fourth set.

Raqraquin was put in as a defensive help and replaced Madeline Palmer who became the target of the Water Defenders’ offense.

“I saw Palmer was being attacked to I decided to have Racraquin replace her,”
said Jimenez in Filipino. “Racraquin was able to play defense and I think that was the key for us in taking the fourth set.”

Arielle Love was a capable second option for the Lady Warriors as she finished with 18 points while Palmer had 13 before getting replaced.

Janisa Johnson had 15 points to lead BaliPure while Alexis Matthews and Alyssa Solomon had 14 and 13 points, respectively.
