Billy Biag was in a class by himself in long distance event and Mark Malolot had to hold off Jade Albar in the standard distance to share top honors in the Tri-Factor Asian Championship Series at Camsur Watersports Complex in Naga City on Sunday.
Biag clocked three hours, 19 minutes and 4.4 seconds to rule the 1.5-kilometer swim, 60K bike and 15K run event with Renel Brecenio, checking in almost eight minutes behind.
Malolot, meanwhile, timed 2:27:31 for the 1.5K swim, 40K bike and 10K run, turning back Albar, who clocked 2:31:09 and third placer Ryan Laurino (2:38:43).
It was a double victory for Biag as he also ruled the 35-44 bracket with Breceno ruling the 25-34 class and Regina Rosquites topping the women’s 25-34 division.
The Tri-Factor Asian series kicked off in Singapore last April 22 before moving on to China on May 13.
