MANILA, Philippines— standout Mario Maglinao topped the premiere 21K race of the Nathan Ridge Run even as Irene Kipchumba overwhelmed the field in the women’s race at the Tagaytay Highlands recently.

The 23-year-old Maglinao, a native of Legazpi City, negotiated the tough, uphill course in one hour and 21 minutes to clinch top honors in the event that also promoted eco-friendly race practices.

A prominent figure in the local running circuit the past two years, Kipchumba, who hails from Kenya, shared the limelight with Maglinao, topping the distaff side by clocking 1:45:00.
