Jeric Mitra upstaged top favorite Bornok Mangosong for the second straight race to keep the overall lead in the MMF Supercross Championship Saturday.
Mitra ruled the centerpiece Shell Advance Pro Open before a wildly cheering crowd at MX Messiah Fairgrounds in Taytay, Rizal.
With his second straight win, Mitra upped his overall tally to 94 points, four points ahead of Mangosong, who settled for second place.
Mangosong of United Athletes Mindanao triumphed in the first and second legs, but Mitra bounced back by winning the next two legs.
“Miracle-filled day. No rain, no serious injury! Praise the Lord!” exclaimed race organizer Pastor Sam Tamayo.
