TNT was already rolling in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup before Kelly Williams got into the mix.

The KaTropa had established a 4-1 record prior to Williams’ return from an upper body injury, but the big man’s return didn’t slow down TNT’s upward trajectory by one bit.

Matching up against an inconsistent Columbian side, TNT rolled to an easy 123-95 victory with Williams solid in his return more than a month into the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

“I’m just glad I’m starting the conference at all and being back from injury,” said Williams Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

“The guys have been doing great and I wanted to make sure my inclusion would mean that we could play better so this was a good start.”

Williams suffered an injury in his upper body before the start of the second conference and it took the 36-year-old more than a month to recover just enough to be back in game shape.

Despite finishing with a line of 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists in 18 minutes of play, Williams said he still has to get into the best shape possible.

“I’m physically strong and it just has to take time to get my rhythm back and get my legs under me,” said Williams. “This will take time, hopefully in the coming weeks I’ll be able to get myself back to normal.”
