TNT’s Cruz, Trollano eager for chance to represent PH in Asiad

TNT arguably has the heaviest of workloads in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

Apart from duking it out in the league’s second conference, the bulk of the KaTropa roster will also be preparing for the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia this August.

TNT head coach Nash Racela welcomes the new challenge that his team faces especially with the chance to represent the country.

“It was the decision by the board and we don’t really have a choice but to allow them to represent the country in the Asian Games,” said Racela after TNT’s 123-95 win over Columbian Friday at Mall of Asia Arena.

“It’s not going to be easy but that has always been the sacrifice of our organization for the national team.”

The KaTropa are having a good run in the second conference, leading the pack with a 5-1 record so far.

Jericho Cruz, who once represented the Philippines in the 2013 Southeast Asian Games in Myanmar, is eager to return to the international stage and wear the Philippines’ colors one more time.

“I’m really happy because I get to represent not only my team but the whole country,” said Cruz in Filipino. “If ever I’m chosen, we are yet to receive any final word, I’ll do my best and give everything I’ve got.”

Even role player Don Trollano is giddy about the chance represent the Philippines for the first time in his career.

“This is an honor for me because ever since I’m a kid this has been a dream of mine,” said Trollano in Filipino. “Actually I’m not thinking that I would be included but I just have to be ready just in case. I’m also nervous so I have to be in top shape for this and I have to perform well.”
