Creamline brushed off the token opposition BaliPure-NU put up to score a 25-22, 25-18, 25-16 rout and make the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference outright at FilOil Flying V Center.
As expected it was league darling Alyssa Valdez who spearheaded the Cool Smashers’ virtual clinic, unloading 15 points, including four aces, to lead her team to their fourth successive victory.
“We really prepared against them knowing that they are a young and fighting team,” said Valdez. “They are a very strong team.”
“It’s a total effort on our part and Jia (Morado) distributed the ball to everyone that’s why we were able to win it in three sets,” added Valdez who is looking for her first title in almost three years.
In the second game, Paymaya stopped a two-game losing skid after shutting down Petro Gazz, 27-25, 25-23, 25-17, to occupy solo second spot.
Import Tess Rountree scored 19 points for the High Flyers (4-2), who dropped the Angels to 3-4.
