Alaska rookie Jeron Teng and his former La Salle teammates were involved in a stabbing incident early Sunday, a police report said.
Teng and former Green Archers Norbert Torres and Thomas Torres were outside Early Night? club near the Fort Strip when they ran into the group of Edmar Manalo, 40, Joseph Varona, 39, and Williard Basili, 38, according to Police Chief Inspector Joseph Austria.
The heated altercation turned into a brawl where the three were stabbed.
The players were rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Hospital for treatment. Both Norbert and Thomas reportedly sustained deep cuts in their arms while Teng got hit in the body.
Officers from Police Community Precinct 7 in Bonifacio Global City apprehended the suspects at around 2:30 am.
Before the stabbing, Teng played in Alaska’s 109-103 win in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Araneta Coliseum. He scored eight points in 22 minutes.
