BanKo ended its elimination round campaign on a high note, fending off Iriga-Navy, 25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 28-26, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference Sunday at Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Perlas Spikers finished the preliminaries on a two-game win streak for a 3-4 record while the Lady Oragons dropped their fifth straight game and fell to 1-5.
Lakia Bright and Jutarat Montripila led the Perlas Spikers’ two-pronged attack finishing with 27 and 23 points, respectively.
Setter Jem Ferrer, though, was the one who dealt the final blow for BanKo with a simple 1-2 play.
BanKo head coach Dong Dela Cruz said his team’s will to win was what powered them through the turbulent fourth set.
“What happened was we lost some of our passing but the players never gave in,” said Dela Cruz in Filipino. “They really wanted to win and they don’t want to lose another game.”
Lauren Whyte led the Lady Oragons with 26 points while Macy Ubben had 17.
