Standhardinger cleared to play in Fiba 3×3 World Cup

Christian Standhardinger has been medically cleared to take the floor for the Philippines in the 2018 Fiba 3×3 World Cup.

The 6-foot-8 PBA rookie missed his last two games with San Miguel in the Commissioner’s Cup but Gilas Pilipinas team manager Butch Antonio said Standhardinger was deemed fit to play just in time for the 3×3 tournament.

“Yes, he will be playing,” said Antonio in a report from Spin.ph. “Our lineup is intact, they had practice this afternoon and we’re good to go.”

Standhardinger suffered from a swollen left knee which saw him miss the Beermen’s past two games in the PBA’s second conference, matches the Beermen won to get to a 3-3 record.

The PBA freshman will team up with Globalport’s Stanley Pringle, and TNT’s Roger Pogoy and Troy Rosario in the tournament that will run from June 8 to June 12 at Philippine Arena.

The Philippines are ranked 48th in the world and is grouped with Russia (3rd), Brazil (8th), Canada (32nd), and Mongolia (5th).
