Four teams go undefeated in men’s Fiba 3×3 Day 1

Several teams walked out of the first day of the men’s division of the Fiba 3×3 World Cup unscathed.

After the 10 teams from Pools B and D took to the floor, Poland, Estonia, Croatia, and Latvia won all their respective group stage games Friday at Philippine Arena.

Poland, the no.6 ranked federation in the world, crushed no.48 Indonesia, 22-6, in the opening game of the tournament and then followed it up with a 21-17 win over Slovenia, the no. 2 federation, in Pool B.

Estonia, the no.13 federation, replicated Poland’s success with wins over no.16 Japan, 17-11, and Indonesia, 22-10.

Slovenia, the no.2 ranked federation in the world, settled for a 1-1 record in Pool B while Japan and Indonesia are at 0-2.

In Pool D, world no.25 Croatia and world no.4 Latvia are at the top of the group with 2-0 records.

Croatia first dismantled no.22 Jordan, 22-7, then followed it up with another dominant victory over no.74 Nigeria, 22-8.

Latvia had closer wins than Croatia but victories nonetheless.

The Latvians first surpassed no.9 Ukraine, 21-18, and immediately followed it up with a 22-13 victory over Jordan.

Ukraine managed to get a 22-11 win over winless Nigeria to go 1-1 while Jordan is also at 0-2.
