Niño Canaleta is the definition of a journeyman in the PBA.

Canaleta has the distinction of playing for nine different teams since joining the league in 2005, but the 36-year-old seems to have finally found a home, for good.

With Cañaleta well into “old man” territory, he wants to end his long career with Meralco.

“When I arrived here during the All-Filipino conference I felt at home,” said Canaleta in Filipino after Meralco’s 103-100 win over Phoenix in the Commissioner’s Cup Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“I felt that this team has a good organization, a good system, so I really hope this would be my last stop before I end my career.”

Canaleta, though, seems to show no signs of slowing down after he put up a team-high 30 points for the Bolts.

“I’m just ready as usual,” said Canaleta. “That’s my role in this team.”
