Alaska cager Jeron Teng is now resting at home after enduring three deep stab wounds following a brawl outside a bar in Bonifacio Global City last Sunday, but because of the severity of his injury, the time frame for his return to the hard court is still “uncertain.”
In his tweet, Teng thanked his family and supporters who have all shown love to him throughout this ordeal.
“Last June 3, I suffered from multiple stabs wounds and deep lacerations which could have been fatal,” Teng wrote. “As of present I am now recovering at home and being closely monitored by my family and doctors.”
A photo of him being treated by doctors with fresh blood stains seen on the sheets of the hospital bed was also posted on his Twitter account.

Teng, who is on his rookie year in the PBA, is expected to miss a chunk if not the entire Aces’ campaign in the 2018 Commissioner’s Cup. The night of the stabbing, Teng was fresh off Alaska’s 109-103 win over GlobalPort.
“The time that I’m going to be back inside the court is still uncertain. For now, I am focusing on my recovery with the help of my family and friends. Thank you Lord,” he added.
According to reports, Teng, along with his former La Salle teammates, figured in a brawl that resulted in the stabbing incident. Teng’s older brother Jeric, who plays for GlobalPort, said in interviews that Jeron and his companions were just picked on.
Two suspects identified as Edmar Lacanlale and Willard Basili were arrested by the Taguig Police while Teng and Thomas Torres and Norbert Torres were rushed to St. Luke’s Medical Center for treatment.
The Teng family is bent on filing charges against the suspects.
