NCA World Championship Derby fires off Jan. 10 at Ynares

MANILA, Philippines—The toughest and most exciting event in the calendar of the National Cockers Alliance gets going on Jan. 10, 12 and 14 with the staging of the NCA World Championship Derby at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Defending champions Johnny Jalandoni and Gov. Bong Carreon are out to score a repeat win in the event that draws the finest local and foreign cockers and breeders.

“The NCA WCD is the Olympics of cockfighting because it is simply the toughest in the word,” said Dan Gray, the famous American gamefowl breeder.

“Only the best breeders and cockers in the world join the event,” said Tom Wilson, another crack entry. “The number and quality of entries make it the hardest derby to win.”

The NCA WCD is the counterpart of famed derbies of the Sunset Recreational Club in Louisiana.

NCA members, aces in the local circuit, are out to make a strong stand in the event which the group said is conducted in the spirit of honesty, fairness, transparency, camaraderie and sportsmanship.
