PJGF tourney draws 34 foreign jungolfers
MANILA, Philippines—Some of the finest junior golfers from Asia compete for top honors with their local counterparts again when the 12th Philippine International Junior Golf Championships fires off Jan. 4 at the Ayala Greenfield Golf and Leisure Club in Calamba, Laguna.
Fifteen players from South Korea, seven from Taiwan, five from Singapore, four from Indonesia, two from Malaysia and one from Thailand have already signed up for the annual event.
The organizing Philippine Junior Golf Federation has set Jan. 3 as practice round for the competitions in the 10-under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-17 and 18-21 boys and 12-under, 13-17 and 18-21 girls age brackets.

Lawyers Gilberto M. Duavit and Reginaldo Oben as well as Lucio “Bong” Tan are the tournament’s major sponsors.
The foreign players will be billeted for the duration of the championships at the well-equipped Cantada Sports Center in Taguig City.
