The Philippine Sports Commission will be holding the first Women’s Sports Congress starting Thursday to highlight the huge contribution of women in sports in the country.

More than 200 notable sports leaders, athletes and public officials in the country will gather during the two-day conference at Century Park Hotel in Manila.

Renowned international executive communication coach Gabriela Mueller of Switzerland will talk about “Sports for Change” and the value of women in the sporting world.

“The PSC not only encourages women to play, but also to speak for change,” said PSC commissioner Celia Kiram. “That is why we are looking forward to gather our women leaders for this event.”

Hidilyn Diaz, the Olympic silver medalist in weightlifting, has been invited to grace the congress.
Since her feat in the Rio de Janeiro Games in 2016, Diaz has become an inspiration to other Filipino women athletes.
