Before he receives his potential NBA Rookie of the Year award, Donovan Mitchell is set to visit Manila on June 17.

The Utah Jazz guard will travel to the Philippines for an event organized by his sponsor adidas.

Mitchell will drop by the adidas store in Bonifacio Global City for his first stop in the morning before going to a PBA game in the evening.

Mitchell became Utah’s face the moment former Jazz All Star Gordon Hayward left for Boston.

In a rookie class that includes Philadelphia’s Ben Simmons and the Celtics’ Jayson Tatum, Mitchell made a name for himself putting up 20.5 points, the highest among freshmen, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists during the regular season where he led the Jazz to the fifth seed in the Western Conference with a 48-34 record.

The 2018 Slam Dunk champion then bumped his individual numbers in the playoffs

Spida averaged 24.4 points, 5.9 boards, and 4.2 assists in 11 games in the postseason where the Jazz dropped Oklahoma City in six games then lost to eventual West runner-up Houston in five.

“From claiming the 2018 Slam Dunk Champ title to leading in the 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year race, Donovan Mitchell has really inspired our basketball-crazy country and we can’t wait to welcome him to the Philippines,” said Jen Dacasin, Brand Communications and Sports Marketing Manager for adidas Philippines.
