MANILA—Brothers Teofilo Edwin Cayco and Edison Cayco prevailed over strong rivals in the Petron Northern Series-2011 National Drag Racing Championship at the Clark International Speedway.
Teofilo Edwin defeated Peng Diaz for the Quick 8 title with a record of 11.595 seconds.
He also bagged back-to-back triumphs in the Super Pro class, thus stretching his lead to 40 points up against William Hand and defending champion Jonathan Tiu who hold 15 and 10 points, respectively.
Meanwhile, Edison finished second behind Martin Manalo in the Pro class, a division he continues to lead with 21 points. Norman de la Peña trails him with 16.
“So far, so good. We’re so blessed this season that things are going our way. Hopefully, we’ll wrap up the season completing the goals we want to achieve this season,” said Teofilo Edwin.
