BanKo-Perlas eliminated Iriga-Navy in five sets, 25-17, 23-25, 28-26, 22-25, 15-12 in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference quarterfinals Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Perlas Spikers secured at least a playoff for a semifinals spot as they remain undefeated in three games.
The Lady Oragons, meanwhile, dropped their third game and are out of the semifinals hunt.
Jutarat Montripilia’s crosscourt kill sealed the victory for the Perlas Spikers.
“There were times the players felt overconfident. On a positive note, we know now that we can win five-set games,” BanKo-Perlas head coach Ariel de la Cruz said in Filipino.
The Lady Oragons forced a deciding set after back-to-back kills from Lauren Whyte and Macy Ubben, 25-22.
BanKo exploited Iriga’s 26 errors and pocketed eight aces.
Montripila led all scorers with 37 points.
Ubben and Whyte both tallied 27 apiece for Iriga. Ivan Ruiz L. Suing
