FEU nails first Freego Cup win
MANILA—Jerry Pinggoy spearheaded a 9-0 run in the last three minutes as Far Eastern University trounced Letran, 79-68, yesterday in the FCBL Freego Cup at the Buddhacare Gym.
Pinggoy finished with 22 points for FEU, which notched its first victory.
Undefeated Mapua thrashed Adamson, 76-73, with Ariel Basas and Jay Alejandro combining for 30 points for the Red Robins. The Baby Falcons’ Justine Jardas had 19 markers.
On the other hand, National University improved its record to 3-1 as it routed University of Santo Tomas, 73-58, with Rash Rivero anchoring the Bullpups’ charge with 14 points.
Perpetual Help improved its record to 2-1 and kept the Jose Rizal University winless after a 57-41 rout.
The Junior Altas have now lost four in a row.
