Cocolife pounces on error-prone Cherrylume in PSL Invitational

Cocolife disposed of an error-plagued Cherrylume side in four sets, 22-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-19, in the 2018 Chooks-to-Go Philippine Superliga Invitational on Monday at the Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.

The Asset Managers used a blistering 10-2 start in the fourth frame to seal the outcome.

“This was an important win for us because we just finished our tryouts three or four days before the PSL press conference,” Cocolife head coach Moro Branislav said.

Down, 15-23, in the third set, Cherrylume threatened to comeback by scoring seven straight points before an error and a through the block hit by Cocolife’s Alex Tan stopped the bleeding for the Asset Managers.

Cherrylume shot itself in the foot with 36 errors in the game.

Asset Managers had 46 attack points while the Iron Lady Warriors tallied only 28.

Gyra Barroga scored 17 points in her debut for Cocolife while Tan added 15.

Judith Abil and Mary Mendrez combined for 23 markers for Cherrylume.
